By Car

The City of Courtenay in the Comox Valley is a pleasant 2.5 hour (137 mile or 220 km) drive northwards from Victoria. From the ferry terminals near Nanaimo it is an approximate 75-minute (66 mile or 107 km) drive. From Nanaimo, you can drive either the scenic Oceanside Route on the old Island Highway (19A), or take the new high-speed Inland Island Highway (19). Highway 19 Exit Number 117 will lead you directly to the main street of Courtenay, turn left on Cliffe Avenue. The distance from the Exit 117 to Cliffe Avenue is 5.9 Km., and total distance to the Comox Valley Inn on Cliffe Avenue is 7.9 Km. The Comox Valley Inn is at 1190 Cliffe Avenue. By Ferry

Regular ferry service from at least nine locations links the British Columbia Mainland and Washington State to the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. you can take advantage of discounted ferry fares with the Sunshine Coast “CirclePac”, which offers four ferry/highway routes linking the Comox Valley with the Mainland and lower Vancouver Island. You can avoid potential wait times on busy long weekends or some tourist season days by making advance reservations with the ferry companies.

Pleasure boaters will find plenty of moorage at Comox Harbour’s 4 marinas – most popular facilities are right in downtown Comox. Comox is the adjacent  town to Courtenay. Public docks offer moorage from May to September while private docks offer moorage year round. Facilities include showers, telephones and laundry. Cycling

Right behind the Comox Valley Inn is the Riverside Pathway, which meanders beside the Courtenay River and peacefully connects downtown Courtenay with southern Courtenay. Cycling enthusiasts can explore the many trails and off-roadways of fabulous sights on two wheels. Rental bikes are available from bike shops in the Comox Valley at hourly, half day and full day rates.
